Old Buckenham Airshow

We went to Old Buckenham airshow yesterday. What a surprise! I thought I would be dragging my heels all day and be tutting at the hubby for pouring over every plane, classic car and tank there! Well I actually quite enjoyed the day.

The air display was wonderful! Some daring stunts from planes which just seemed to fall to earth and then vvveeeennaahahhhhh! right past you. To loop the loop and upside down flights. The finale of the flying display was the war planes. The spitfire was very impressive.

We had a wander around the classic cars. There was everything there from Dollys to Pontiacs. There were tanks, armoured cars, cannons, huge guns for shooting planes out of the sky. My little boy was in his element!

Then on the way out we stopped at the tortoise stand, yes you read correctly, the tortoise stand. They had baby tortoises smaller than the palm of your hand. Also a giant tortoise and a couple of average sized tortoises. Tortoises can live for over 100 years and they can be left with no home when an owner passes away or can no longer look after them. So they were looking for people to foster tortoises!

There were also a range of fairground style rides and attractions although we didn't go on any rides the opportunity was there.

We will definitely be going back again next year.

Top tip: wear wellies and a waterproof jacket if it is likely to rain - I am so glad I did as it was rather wet!
